Kehadiran ARLI di forum ini merupakan tindak lanjut dari Nota Kesepahaman (MoU) yang ditandatangani dengan Asosiasi Industri Rumput Laut Tiongkok (China Seaweed Industry Association) pada tahun 2016 di Jakarta.
Safari Azis, Ketua Umum Asosiasi Rumput Laut Indonesia (ARLI), menghadiri acara penutupan the 22nd International Seaweed Symposium (ISS) 2016 yang diselenggarakan di Copenhagen, Denmark.
Ketua Asosiasi Rumput Laut Indonesia (ARLI) Safari Azis, dari Washington DC, akhir pekan lalu, mengemukakan keputusan AS untuk mempertahankan produk karaginan dan agar-agar dalam daftar produk organik telah melalui proses evaluasi selama dua tahun.
Ketua Umum ARLI, Safari Azis mengungkapkan bahwa Tiongkok merupakan pangsa pasar terbesar yaitu sekitar 70 persen ekspor rumput laut Indonesia baik berupa bahan baku maupun produk olahan.
Asosiasi Rumput Laut Indonesia (ARLI) menyatakan bahwa potensi lahan untuk pengembangan rumput laut di Indonesia demikian luas dan dapat berkontribusi dalam penyerapan tenaga kerja.

About 11.30 afternoon (middle Indonesia times), the 21st International Seaweed Symposium held on April, 21-26 in Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre is closed officially by the Chief Organizer of National Organizing Committe (NOC), Mr. Safari Azis.
The participants of the International Seaweed Symposium get a special surprise from the National Organizing Committee (NOC) by presenting a Gala Dinner with the theme “Wonderfull Indonesia” in cultural night program.
Wednesday, April 24, all the symposium participants take a break for a day from the heavy activity of routine seminar. The seminar committee provided four interesting package that already surveyed since April, 2011 by National Organizing Committee.
Monday, April 22nd, in Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre (BNDCC) exactly at 10.00 a.m., the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries did the gong hitting as sign of the opening ceremonial of the International Seaweed Symposium (ISS-XXI).

The measures were being taken to maximize the potential from increasing seaweed production in Indonesia, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Sharif Cicip Sutardjo said on Monday at the opening of the International Seaweed Symposium in Nusa Dua.
The association’s chairman, Safari Azis, said on Sunday that the association was working together with a local farmers’ group to promote the daily activities of the local farmers as a unique attraction for tourists.
Seaweed Science for Sustainable Prosperity, is the theme of the International Seaweed Symposium (ISS-XXI) as business and science meeting started with a welcome reception ceremony held in Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre (BNDCC).
About 50 countries are expected to attend the symposium on international seaweed commodities, “The 21st International Seaweed Symposium" in Bali, April 21-26, 2013.
The recommendation from the ISA of the need for harmonization between areas set aside for tourism and those for coastal and island seaweed farming will soon be realized with willingness and preparedness of seaweed farming families at Pandawa Beach.
